Shakedown Cruise to Cobourg

May 23-24

Our first Club shakedown cruise is this weekend to Cobourg.

If you are planning to join us the skippers meeting is at 9 am Saturday morning in the picnic shelter. The Cobourg marina does not permit slip reservations but we will make a call after the skippers meeting to let them know how many boats are coming from Newcastle. We will also distribute marina maps at the skippers meeting so that you will know where your assigned slip is when each boat in our flotilla calls in to request a slip (on Channel 68) upon arrival at Cobourg.

Our club cruises are always informal. You may be looking forward to a steak on the BBQ upon our arrival or you may want to go for dinner. If you are interested in a dinner reservation at the Cat n Fiddle or the Oasis, please reply by return email and we will make a group reservation. Additionally, if any of you would like to go to the Buttermilk Cafe for breakfast Sunday morning please also let us know and we will again make a group reservation.

The weather is looking great and we have heard from about 10 boats, including a couple of power boats, all planning to make the trek together. This is a great opportunity to travel not too far and to do so in a group - its a lot of fun and we hope you will join us! Any questions, please ask! And yes...do bring a toque for the cruise as it may be cool on the water.

We also want to mention that if your boat isn't ready to cruise just yet, please come join us for dinner and the evening if this works better for you! We would love to see you!
