On behalf of the 43 folks (out of the 48) that actually attended for dinner on Saturday night, thanks so very much for making us all feel so very welcome! Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was so very pleasant to sit on your lovely patio to enjoy the evening breezes!

Our members really like to come to Cobourg as it is a very do-able distance from Newcastle and for many, it was their first time to have dinner in your Club and they look forward to returning again soon.

Our first club cruise is this Saturday.

The shakedown cruise will give you a chance to work the bugs out of your boat in preparation for the season.

Saturday, May 29th
9am skippers meeting between Piers III and IV
10am leave

Diner at the Cobourg Yacht Club is 6pm ish.

Lots of interest in our Club shakedown cruise to Cobourg this weekend with quite a few boats making the trip and several members driving over to join us for dinner. Thanks to the 35 that have let us know you are joining us.

The skippers meeting will be at 9 am on Saturday morning between piers 3 and 4 and we will head out around 10ish... or when everyone is ready. Reciprocal privileges are given by the Cobourg Yacht Club on the extreme west wall where there is no hydro or water. Slips with both hydro and water are available but we are unsure of the price but expect it is around $1.10/foot.

When you are about one half hour out from Cobourg you will call them on channel 68 and give them the length, make, draft and beam of your boat and tell them you are with the Newcastle Yacht Club group and they will give you a slip for the night. Each boat calls in individually. We will call in the morning and tell them how many boats are heading to Cobourg but each boat also checks in individually.

We will have a map of the marina for each boat that shows where the slips are for your easy reference.

For those folks planning to have dinner with us at the Cobourg Yacht Club dinner will be at 6ish and we have not requested one big table for the 35 of us but we will rather sit at the tables as they are regularly placed in the dining room.

Any questions please email us back or bring them to the skippers meeting!
