  • Eligibility - Membership application is open to all boating enthusiasts, 18 years of age or more, regardless of boat ownership, power or sail orientation, or geographic location. Application
  • Flexibility - The following types of membership are available, depending on your needs:
    • Full Membership – For boat owners, includes voting privileges (for 1 or 2 adults).
    • Associate Membership – For boat owners, includes all club rights and privileges, except voting rights.
  • Affordability - Membership is easy and an excellent value. There are currently no initiation fees. Annual membership fees are set yearly. Some events are subject to nominal participant fees to cover costs. Fee Schedule: Full = $200, Associate = $125
  • Racing – All members are eligible to participate in racing programs, free of charge. Race winners are added to club trophies, and awarded individual trophies to keep. Bragging rights are also free! (A fiscally and environmentally responsible trophy recycle program is available and promoted.) Racing Program
  • PHRF Handicap Access – Member boats are rated by certified club handicappers under the PHRF LO (Lake Ontario) program. PHRF certificates, required to complete in interclub race events, are available for a nominal fee.
  • Sail Canada Membership – All NYC members are enrolled and become members in the Sail Canada and Ontario Sailing; these non-profit organizations advance the standards of the sport and interests of members through all levels of government.
  • Cruises - All members are eligible to participate in club cruises, free of charge. (Expenses incurred during cruises are the responsibility of the skipper.) Cruising Program
  • Social Events – Each year, the social committee outdoes themselves, organizing a variety of events to enhance the camaraderie that naturally occurs among boaters throughout the boating season and all year round. Calendar of Events
  • Training – All members and crew are eligible to participate in training events, to develop and maintain skills in a variety of areas such as: First Aid, Weather, Navigation, Racing, Cruising, Emergency Procedures, etc. Calendar of Events
  • Masthead – Members receive frequent e-mail communication updates throughout the year, providing details of upcoming events, new member introductions, stories, helpful hints, and other fitting club communications.
  • Website Forums – Got a question – Just ask it on our Forums and receive the benefit of the education, skills, and experience of all of our club members. Got an answer – Give other members the benefit of your opinion. Forums are password protected and accessible by members only. (Classifieds may only be posted by members, but are viewable by the general public.)
  • Belonging – a satisfying sense, shared with a like-minded group, who know exactly where you are coming from, whenever you speak of your boating experiences and passion.
